Awkward adaptation of author James, erotic novel nabbed five prizes at Golden Raspberry Awards. Including tying it up with superhero flop Fantastic Four.

The Fifty Shades of Grey also won for worst screenplay, worst actor for Jamie Dornan and worst actress for Dakota Johnson.

The Fantastic Four was also lambasted as worst remake rip-off or sequel.

Superhero flop was rated nine percent on the Tomatoes movie ranking website. It is described as dull and downbeat, and a woefully misguided, humorless adaption of the comic.

36th annual Razzies, hosted at the Palace Theater downtown Los Angeles,  Worst supporting actress was won by Kaley Cuoco for Alvin and Chipmunks, The Road Chip. Eddie Redmayne an Oscar nominee for best actor for the Danish Girl worst supporting actor for bizarre turn in Jupiter Ascending.

In 1980 the Razzies were created as an antidote to Hollywood's star studded, back slapping annual awards season.


But one of Razzie categories are chosen by the 800 or so members of Golden Raspberry Award Foundation, who earn voting rights by paying a $40 membership fee.

Nominees are very rarely attend the Razzies. Sandra Bullock turned up and accept to worst actress in 2010 for All About Steve, Day before winning best actress Oscar for The Blind Side.
