Exclusive: Resignation of Liam Nolan and governing board of Perry Beeches in Birmingham in wake of damning report leaves five schools without sponsors

The Birmingham multi-academy trust once celebrated by David Cameron as among the best in Britain has collapsed, leaving the five schools it runs with mounting debts and an uncertain future.

Parents and staff at the Perry Beeches academy chain in Birmingham will be told on Wednesday that Liam Nolan, the trust’s guiding force, has resigned from the organisation as executive head, having earlier stepped down as the trust’s chief executive after an investigation uncovered financial mismanagement.

An “exit statement” from the trust obtained by the Guardian reads: “Liam Nolan has presented his resignation from the post of CEO/executive headteacher at the Perry Beeches academy trust. He has made this decision to allow the necessary changes required to move the trust forward.” Continue reading...

College students are a tender on ' friends '

College Students say it is not love, but the friendship that you are using dating application for.

In a survey of 100 college students, 73% ranked Tinder as your favorite dating app, followed by Bumble (13%) and OkCupid (10%). One student even stated Facebook as her favorite dating site.

The survey, conducted by level jobs College startup WayUp (formerly Campus Job), asked the students of college about their dating habits.

Students say that they do not use Tinder – or other meetings applications – to this day. The majority (58%) said that they have never even gone to a date using popular applications.

53% say they use meetings applications to find friends, 27% said that they are seeking a significant other, and the smallest percentage, 20%, said they were looking for a connection.

It is not that the popularity of Amadou on University campuses has declined. The students of the College were among Tinder most active users when the service was launched in 2012. Amadou, who is owned by the Group Match now public (MTCH), says 50% of its members are in the college age group - 18-24.

Sydney Mastrandrea, a sophomore at the University of Miami, said that the fact that students say use the application to find friends is probably not the whole truth.

"I think people use [Tinder] random adapters rather than [find] friends-but they say it is for" friends ", so they are not judged,

Dating industry analyst Mark Brooks agrees.

"It helps people connect with the concept of internet dating," he said, as people begin to look more serious relations "will generally drift towards other services."

Those services, offer paid subscriptions. Tinder, on the other hand, only recently rolled out its Tinder Plus premium services in an attempt to start monetizing your application.

Those who pay for services may not be college students, though.

While the Tinder doesn,t describe the demographic information about its subscribers, online dating analyst said that it,s likely not a hit with the younger set. "There is no money for anyone under 22."
